Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026. This explains what data Vuther processes and why.
// Who we are
Vuther provides free, browser-based cybersecurity and network utilities. We do not require accounts, and we do not sell personal data. This policy covers what happens to the information you enter or that your browser sends while using the site.
For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, the data controller is:

// What we process
Your IP address. To show your location on the home page and in IP lookups, your public IP is sent to our geolocation provider (IP2Location.io). We display the result to you; we do not store your IP. Our rate limiter keeps a temporary, in-memory count per IP to prevent abuse, which is discarded automatically.
Email addresses (Email Breach Check). When you check an email, it is sent to a third-party breach-lookup service (XposedOrNot) to run the check. We do not store the address.
Hostnames, IPs and queries (DNS/WHOIS, Blacklist, Lookup). Values you submit are sent to public resolvers and registries (see below) to return results. We do not retain them.
Local storage. We store one preference in your browser's local storage: your chosen interface language. It never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time.
// Third-party services
To provide the tools, requests are made to: IP2Location.io (geolocation), Cloudflare and Google DNS-over-HTTPS (DNS records and blacklist checks), rdap.org (WHOIS/RDAP), XposedOrNot (email breach data), icanhazip.com and ipify.org (detecting your IPv4/IPv6), and CARTO (dark map tiles). Each has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum needed to return a result.
// Cookies, analytics & advertising
The site itself does not set tracking cookies. If we enable Google Analytics, it uses cookies to measure aggregate, anonymised usage. If and when we display Google AdSense advertising, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. In the UK and EEA we will request your consent through a compliant consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can also manage ad personalisation at google.com/settings/ads.
// Data retention
We do not maintain a database of the IPs, emails, or queries you submit. Results are generated on demand and not logged to persistent storage by us. Third-party providers may keep their own request logs per their policies.
// Your rights
Depending on your location (including under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because we don't store the data you enter, most requests concern third-party providers; we're happy to help you direct them. Contact us using the details on our Contact page, or write to the postal address above.
// Children
Vuther is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
// Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
